Golden Aurora High Tea
This October, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast is delighted to unveil its limited-edition spring high tea, a pink-inspired culinary experience proudly supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Available daily throughout October and November, five dollars from every booking will be donated to help fund life-changing breast cancer research and community programs. Menu highlights include a Rose and Vanilla Éclair, a Raspberry Opera Slice, and a Lemon Curd Tart finished with toasted lime marshmallow, balanced with savoury creations such as Spiced Prawn Cocktail, Prosciutto and Pear Remoulade, and delicate Roast Turkey Sandwiches. No high tea would be complete without Homemade Scones served with vanilla clotted cream and strawberry compote, while herbal teas and freshly brewed coffee provide the perfect finishing touch. To honour the cause, guests are encouraged to wear a touch of pink.

HOTA Collects: Metamorphosis
HOTA Collects: MetamorphosisArtists have been transforming found materials through cutting, assembling and pasting for centuries. Processes such as collage and assemblage flourished in Australia from the mid-twentieth century, with artists repurposing the discarded detritus of modern life to create new meaning. Through collage and photomontage, artists reconfigure images to examine themes such as feminism, environmentalism, and the connection between self and place. Metamorphosis brings together work by more than thirty Australian artists from the HOTA Collection, who have used these transformative methods to explore ideas of identity, memory and perception. The exhibition title draws from the words of Colin Lanceley, a key figure in the development of assemblage art in Australia, who observed: ‘The transformation of materials, the metamorphosis, informed by a poetic sensibility, is the key to creativity.’ Included in the exhibition are works by Lorraine Connelly-Northey, Rosalie Gascoigne, James Gleeson, Robert Klippel, Julie Rrap, Sally Smart, Ruby Spowart, Brett Whiteley, Judith Wright and Jemima Wyman. THIRSTY MERC Summer Live 25 Tour! Thirsty Merc tours are reaching legendary status, and the ‘Summer Live ’25 Tour’ is set to continue the sweet times and hot nights! The band has been furnishing audiences with quintessential soundtracks to Aussie summers for well over two decades now, and on ‘Summer Live ’25,’ fans will be treated to electrifying live versions of ‘Someday, Someday,’ ’20 Good Reasons,’ ‘Mousetrap Heart,’ ‘In The Summertime,’ ‘The Good Life,’ ‘Tommy and Krista’ and other Merc classics. Thirsty Merc formed in 2002, recorded their Debut album in 2003, sold over 250,000 albums (one double platinum, one platinum), received 5 ARIA nominations, garnered an APRA song of the year nomination, received extensive national airplay for multiple singles and videos and has toured constantly since the mid noughties. The band’s song ‘In The Summertime’ has just been signed on again for Series 19(!) of hit TV show ‘Bondi Rescue.’ Lead Singer Rai Thistlethwayte says in his own words: ‘We can’t thank our audiences enough for being so incredibly supportive during our last couple of tours. Sea World Foundation Ocean Clean Up Community Event
Sea World Foundation is calling on Gold Coast ocean lovers to help care for the beautiful ocean and wildlife that call it home.
