Sunday Farm Day’s are a great opportunity to escape the city for a genuine farm experience. These events occur on the last Sunday of every month in Harrisville, a small suburb in the beautiful Scenic Rim - and less than an hour from Brisbane! Sunday Farm Days give kids the chance to have some fun with the animals on a working farm. There is an animal nursery full of baby lambs and goats to feed and play with - and our favourite alpaca George! There is also have a designated chick & duckling holding area and some silkie chickens who love a cuddle! Then there is face painting and pony rides for some extra fun! In case you get hungry, coffee and a sausage sizzle is available, and an ice cream van - perfect for the warm weather. All regular poultry and produce is available as well. Women In Music Month
Join in for a celebration of Women In Music throughout the month of October at Den Devine! During October they have partnered with the McGrath Foundation to support breast cancer research in hope of raising funds to support McGrath Foundation's research. Den Devine will be hosting 27 female-led live music gigs to celebrate & build awareness of women's contribution in live music kicking off with an all-female Open Mic Night on October 1, hosted by local singer-songwriter Alanah Stone. Other featured events include Greer Sullivan's kick-off party for the 2024 Groundwater Country Music Festival on Thursday 17 October, a Women In Music Jam on Wednesday 23 October & Sunny Luwe taking the stage on Friday 25 October. Throughout the month, Den Devine will be inviting breast care nurses to speak during events to help raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer research & selling charitable items from McGrath Foundation.

2024 Australian Pickleball Championships
The Australian Pickleball Championships is the largest gathering of pickleball players in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2023 over 700 competitors competed in Blacktown at the Australian Pickleball Championships. In 2024, we hope to eclipse 1000. The Australian Pickleball Championships brings together players of all ages and skills and offers inclusive opportunities for able-bodied and players with disabilities, physical or intellectual, to compete alongside and with some of the best homegrown and international talent. The event has a real festival vibe and is the culmination of State Championship events offered in the year leading up to. The event offers maximum participation with players competing in singles, doubles, mixed doubles and team formats.

Gold Coast Jazz & Blues Club: Big Kitty
Big KittyAn explosion of hot sultry smokin' jazz, rhythm 'n blues and boogie, Big Kitty and her merry band of boys have been lifting the roof off jump joints and shakin' the shoes off fevered crowds since 2005. With an ensemble of some of the finest musicians in Queensland, roots planted in jazz and blues, this audacious 7-piece act features the incomparable Big Kitty on searing vocals. Three and four-part harmonies round out the glorious sound, which draws influences from jazz, soul and blues greats of the 1940s, 1950s and early 1960s. The odd bluegrass, country blues and rock'n'roll tune liven up the mix. Their ability to fluidly interpret styles has helped to cement Big Kitty and the lads as genuine genre-busters who never fail to honor their home in jazz and blues. Expect a night of high energy jazz and blues to warm your heart when Big Kitty hits the stage.

Gold Coast Titans All Schools Touch
Gold Coast Titans All Schools (GCTAS) is an annual touch football event run by Queensland Touch Football. The 2024 event will be held at the world class Gold Coast Performance Centre at Runaway Bay, Queensland, thanks to the support of Experience Gold Coas. Held in October, it is the world’s largest touch football tournament & one of Australia largest events for secondary schools, with over 500 teams representing various schools both nationally and internationally. It is a seeded round robin-based competition where teams are placed in Pools of 6-8 teams depending on the size of the division, which provides school teams with a minimum of 7 games.

A TRIBUTE TO SOUL AND MOTOWNSOULTOWN presents a dynamic and true reproduction of the classics of 60’s Soul music from the houses of Motown and Stax/Atlantic records. This 8 piece tribute band performs the classic songs of artists including Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Martha and The Vandellas, The Temptations, and many others. This highly experienced and entertaining band is certain to get audiences singing along and heading for the dance floor. These six artists: Jay Jermyn, Kathy Mackey, Larissa Warren, Lyle Duncan, Norton Fredericks and Rebecca Ross, have contemporary art practices that are both local and global in ideas and execution, showcasing the richness and diversity of artists living and working across the region. For each Cocktails with Curators session you will join an intimate group on an exclusive tour of the exhibition, led by a HOTA Curator. At the conclusion of the tour you’ll continue your conversation with an exhibition-inspired cocktail at the Exhibitionist Bar. Each session will focus on one of the featured artists, please note that the artist won’t be present.
