Overview

Rhydian and the Residuals

It’s a Swing Thing!

It’s a Swing Thing! Back at the GCJBC by popular demand, front man Rhydian Lewis leads an all-out assault on the dancefloor. If swing is your thing, then this band doesn’t take any prisoners. With a smoking 11-piece big band, this promises to be an even bigger show than their last sold-out performance. Don’t miss one of the most entertaining and fun big bands Australia has to offer - Rhydian and The Residuals.

It's A Swing Thing is a full-on visit to the swinging days of Harlem, New York City in the 1930s - 1940s, leading up to the Copacabana, New York and Sinatra era, with swing numbers from the world’s top Swingers, while making a few dedicated stops to swinging blues mega stars like Ray Charles and The Blues Brothers! With well-proven sets, there is much scope for varying styles of swing and Balboa to perform to the many songs from the 1930s, right up to the crooner swing style and including a handful of Bublé’s finest up-tempo numbers.

Rhydian and The Residuals are featured on The Ministry of Sound’s first ever big band dance album When Cool Was King, released in the UK, USA, Canada and Ireland.

Presented by The Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club
