Overview

Peter Bibby has always forged his own path through the muck. Perth’s favourite punk poet has been pushing the bounds for 15 years with his unique brand of Australiana song writing. His unmatched ability to weave grimy, gritty, mundane realism into metaphor for universal themes of life and love, set against a rugged Australian landscape have made him a spokesperson for the working class of his generation.

Peter Bibby sold out shows across the country in March 2025, as he celebrated the 10 year anniversary of his debut album Butcher/Hairstylist/Beautician. The tour was his final jaunt with label Spinning Top, famously of Pond and Tame Impala, and Bibby’s own home for the past decade. 2025 marks the start of a new chapter for Bibby as he embarks on his next journey as an independent artist, freeing himself from the ups and downs label life as well as his boozehound ways that soaked his early records.

“I think giving up the booze has made me a much calmer person, I’ve definitely had my moments of being a bit of f***ing nut-bag.” This newfound calm doesn’t extend to Bibby’s live shows however, oozing raucous punk that has been described as “loud, heavy, energetic and wonderful”. As he hits the road for an extensive east coast tour, Bibby gets back to his roots as a solo artist, sans his Big Horse Band. The string of intimate solo shows is an opportunity for fans new and old to hear Bibby’s songs as they were written, in their purest form, with all the poetic, evocative lyricism held within.
