AFC Women’s Asian Cup Brings World-Class Soccer to the Gold Coast

In March 2026, the Gold Coast is going to be hosting some world-class women’s soccer when the AFC Women's Asian Cup comes to town. Whether you’re backing the Matildas, following your favourite Asian team, or just love the electric atmosphere of live football, it’s going to be a sporting spectacle that goes down in history.  

Ranked third in Asia and carrying a proud tournament history - including their unforgettable 2010 title win - the Matildas are fired up to claim their second AFC Women’s Asian Cup crown. With the eyes of the nation upon them and World Cup qualification at stake, this showdown promises to be a defining highlight of the Group Stage. 

Australia, Philippines, Iran, and South Korea will be competing against each other on the Gold Coast in the Group Stage of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026. Four of the first stage matches are set to be played at Gold Coast Stadium in Robina across three exciting dates.

Philippines v Korea Republic: Thursday 5 March, 1pm 

IR Iran v Australia: Thursday 5 March, 7pm 

IR Iran v Philippines: Sunday 8 March, 7pm 

Finally, on 19 March, Gold Coast Stadium will host a thrilling World Cup qualification double-header, which will see the defeated Quarterfinalists facing off for a last-chance qualification to the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027. These play-offs are going to be some of the most high-stakes matches in the entire tournament.
