Paradise Point Fishing Lessons for all ages
Do your kids want to go fishing but you’re not sure what to do? Want to learn how to fish, but feel uncomfortable about it? Send them along and they will take care of all the tangles, while they learn alongside other kids or families in the same boat. 2 Bent Rods will ease everyone into fishing with this fun and educational activity. Classes are very hands-on, everyone will be shown how to use the equipment and receive help to correct their technique. Kids and families will learn to read the beach, catch bait with yabby pumps and a bait net, tie a fishing knot, cast a rod and hopefully land a fish. They will pick up plenty of tips to help make their next fishing adventure more successful. This class is for both kids and families. All bait and fishing equipment provided. Bookings are essential.

Cauldron Distillery Gin Blending Class
Get your creative juices flowing during an informative and interactive Gin Blending Class at Tamborine Mountain’s very own Cauldron Distillery. Do you enjoy creating recipes in the kitchen? How good is your palate at detecting flavours? During this one hour experience, you will learn everything there is to know about gin and then you are set free to create your own gin masterpiece to take home. Set in their world-class distillery and guided by their distilling team, you will select from a multitude of individually distilled botanicals and skilfully blend them together to create a balanced gin that suits your palate and taste. How does a gin with orange, sage, and anise sound to you? Maybe you prefer rose petals, strawberry, and cocoa nibs? Perhaps your preference is lemon myrtle, macadamia nuts and honey? The choice will be yours because your gin blend can be as unique as you are! HOTA Collects: Alasdair Macintyre Artist TalkJoin us for this unique opportunity to hear Queensland artist Alasdair Macintyre talk about his practice and work. Alasdair creates small to large scale sculptures and installations that explore art history, science fiction and mythology, as well as popular culture, comics, toys and nostalgia. He is known for his visual puns and humour, often in the form of small dioramic mise-en-scène and scaled models that intelligently comment on the state of aesthetics, the role of the artist, and the art world at large. Sea World Foundation Ocean Clean Up
Ocean Clean Up is back bigger and bigger than ever! Sea World Foundation is calling on Gold Coast Ocean lovers to help us care for the beautiful Seaway and the wildlife that call it home on Sunday, 22 September 2024. Volunteer to dive below the surface to remove rubbish from our marine ecosystems or contribute to the cause by helping to pick up litter along the shore. Then, celebrate with live music, a mouth-watering barbecue and prizes on this fun day out for all ages. Schedule: 09:30 Registration 10:00 Welcome 10:15 Safety briefing (mandatory) 10:30 Land Clean Up 11:00 Dive Clean Up (high tide 11:18) 12:00 Lunch 13:00 Wrap up Register today and make a difference! Early registration ensures you receive event updates and a free Sea World Foundation wristband if you are among the first 100 registrants.
