Ballun Gawrehma: River StoriesJoin local Kombumerri man Lann Levinge—a multi-talented artist who is a singer, songwriter, producer, director, and creative designer—for a unique journey into the heart of Kombumerri culture. Lann will guide students through culturally significant sites, sharing local history passed down by elders. Begin your exploration at Wulabora, a dedicated space for sharing and gathering that celebrates Kombumerri heritage. Lann will weave together family stories, local history, the legacy of Jenny Graham and the Keeper of the Light, as well as Dreamtime tales and environmental wisdom. This sensory-rich experience includes hands-on interaction with authentic indigenous artefacts—such as clothing, weapons, and tools—alongside immersive soundscapes composed by Lann himself. As Lann expresses, "I’m passionate about discovering new ways to nurture and inspire a new generation of language and cultural warriors. My goal is to raise awareness and foster connections with indigenous culture, particularly the Kombumerri ways and the Yugambeh Language, through visual art, music, and dance." Join them at the Gold Coast Turf Club events centre for a day of sensational sips, mouth-watering morsels, and of course, premium trackside views of the races. But that's not all - you'll be helping a fantastic cause too! All the proceeds from the event will go directly to support the families of sick and injured kids, providing them with essential resources and accommodation to be close to their loved ones when they need it most. Festa Janina - Brazilian Winter Festival - 2025
Folias Entertainment Presents; Festa Junina 2025 - Brazilian Winter Festival at Miami Marketta. Festa Junina or June Festival, also known as the festa de São João are celebrated during the month of June nationwide in Brazil. As Northeastern Brazil is largely arid or semi-arid these festivals not only coincide with the end of the rainy seasons of most states in the northeast but they also provide the people with an opportunity to celebrate the rain season. They also celebrate rural life and feature typical clothing, food, dance (particularly quadrilha, which is similar to square dancing). We are very Happy and Proud to be able to bring this amazing cultural event to the Gold Coast Australia, in partner with the Brazilian community we can deliver a very traditional event. The day will be fulfilled with many food stalls cooking delicious traditional food, typical drinks at the bar along with many street performances and live music as well as kids activities and traditional games featuring a mechanical bull ride. Monster Machinery Day
Does your little one wheely love everything that digs, scoops and beeps? Then head on down to Monster Machinery Day! Spread across an entire kilometre of the Broadwater Parklands' Great and Southern Lawns, the event gives locals a chance to experience the machinery transforming and maintaining the Gold Coast. There'll be free activities on offer including live machinery demonstrations (think woodchipper), a rock-climbing wall, train rides and the all-time favourite for toddlers, the huge sand pit! Meet the hard-working heroes from the emergency services and volunteers dedicated to keeping the community safe, at the Disaster and Emergency Management Pop-Up. Get up close with emergency services vehicles and learn what to do when you are faced with severe weather and disasters. And let's not forget your favourite trucks – the delicious food trucks. Ride the G to Broadwater Parklands, hop on the HOPO Ferry or make your journey active and walk, ride, scoot or skate to the event. If driving your car is a must, consider carpooling.
