Little ArtLab – Seashell Spiral
Little ArtLab – Seashell SpiralLittle ArtLab provides hands-on creative fun for kids aged 3-5 years to enjoy with their parents and carers. Little ones can experiment, play and create with art-based activities inspired by HOTA Gallery's current exhibitions. Have you noticed the patterns and spirals you see when you pick up a seashell or spot a snail in the garden? This Little ArtLab celebrates the opening of Aka Sorbie: Saltwater Heart in our Children’s Gallery with a making activity inspired by the majestic nautilus shell. We will create our own bright spinning nautilus-inspired hanging focusing on repeated line and colour. We will first practise drawing our spirals, then fill our shells with curvy waves emanating from the centre, adding dots and organic shapes. There will be the opportunity to play with stencils before we cut our spiral out and watch our three-dimensional creations twirl in the wind! Children must be accompanied by an adult or carer and cannot be left unsupervised at any time.

Wulabora
Ballun Gawrehma: Story by the RiverWULABORA Part of the Ballun Gawrehma Series — Stories by the River We walk together into the living heart of Country through WULABORA, a powerful Aboriginal engagement experience tailored to meet the needs of the knowledge seeker. Immersive and educational, it welcomes all ages, from the young to the young at heart. Rooted in ancient wisdom and cultural strength, WULABORA means "the gift and exchange of knowledge and connection." It invites participants on a transformative journey through storytelling, song, art, movement, history, and deep listening. Wulabora opens the space for us to share and discuss seasonal knowledge, stories of the constellations, to create artworks, music and even meditations. The choice is yours. Led by respected Kombumerri artist Lann Levinge, this experience offers more than lessons, it opens the way for cultural awakening, shared understanding, and honest conversation. Gathered by the water’s edge, we hear stories passed down through generations, stories that speak to land, spirit, resilience, and community. Through this rich engagement, participants gain a deeper understanding of First Nations perspectives, language, and lore, encouraging truth-telling, healing, and respect. Whether in schools, community spaces, or professional environments, WULABORA is an invitation: To walk together. To learn together. To honour the voices that have echoed along these rivers for tens of thousands of years. Contact hotaeducation@experiencegoldcoast.com to arrange your education perspectives experience. Moogerah Passion Play
The Moogerah Passion Play is produced by the Moogerah Passion Play Association Inc. a non-denominational association established in 1993.The play has the primary aim of telling the story of Jesus. Up to 100 people are involved as cast and crew to bring the story of Jesus Christ to life and around 3 000 people attend the performances each year.By using drama, many who come and see the play will understand the central truth of the good news (that’s what Gospel means) that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God who came so all who believe in him can have eternal life. They present the play close to Easter as that is when Christians around the world remember the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.Their one aim is to present the story as faithfully as we can without regard to doctrine. Their hope is that by coming to see the play, you will look at the story of Jesus with new eyes.
