Women In Music Month
Join in for a celebration of Women In Music throughout the month of October at Den Devine! During October they have partnered with the Be There Group to support prevention of domestic violence. Den Devine will be hosting 27 female-led live music gigs to celebrate and build awareness of women's contribution in live music kicking off with an all-female Women in Music Jam, hosted by local singer-songwriter and music teacher Bayley Pearl. Other featured events include Greer Sullivan's kick-off party for the 2025 Groundwater Country Music Festival, weekly Soul Sundays Professional Muso Jam hosted by Amanda King, and Dunlin Drive performing for the Raffle Prize night for the Be There Group. Throughout the month, Den Devine will be inviting the Be There Group to speak during events to help raise awareness of the importance of domestic violence prevention.

Kundalini Yoga Class - All Levels, Every Monday
Using movement, mantra, meditation, and breathwork, Kundalini yoga helps shift energy, invigorates the body, and allows you to release anything that is no longer serving you. Expect to leave feeling brighter, energised, and ready for the week ahead. With 8,000 sets, no class is the same, and a lot of the exercises are held for only for a few minutes at a time. Kundalini is great for overactive minds, ADHD, and anyone who thinks that yoga or meditation is not for them. Give Kundalini a try! The first class cost is $11, then it's $16.50 per class after that. Cash payable on door. Bring a yoga mat or towel and water, plus any cushions/bolsters if you need them as we're on hardwood floors. Parking is available to the right of the community centre. Please note the class is in the Activity Room, to the right as you walk in. Chairs are available if you'd prefer to be off the floor.

Kids Take Over | Ballun GawrehmaJoin local Kombumerri man Lann Levinge as he guides you through culturally significant sites, sharing local history passed down by elders. Begin your exploration at Wulabora, a dedicated space for sharing and gathering that celebrates Kombumerri heritage. On this exploration, stories will be shared about family stories, local history, Dreamtime tales and environmental wisdom. This sensory-rich experience includes hands-on interaction with authentic indigenous artefacts—such as clothing, weapons, and tools—alongside immersive soundscapes. As Lann expresses, "I’m passionate about discovering new ways to nurture and inspire a new generation of language and cultural warriors. My goal is to raise awareness and foster connections with indigenous culture, particularly the Kombumerri ways and the Yugambeh Language, through visual art, music, and dance."

A Bigger View
Embark on a journey of epic proportions as you immerse yourself in monumental works of art from the National Gallery of Australia (NGA). Made possible through the Australian Government's Sharing the National Collection initiative, this exhibition brings together masterpieces from the NGA alongside major works from our very own collection. Spanning decades and continents, each epic in scale and subject, these artworks demonstrate the various and unique approaches artists take to the landscape. A highlight for visitors will be two artworks created by Henri Matisse (1869 -1954), one of Europe's greatest twentieth-century modernist artists. Accompanying Matisse's uniquely abstracted views of sea and sky forms is an extraordinary work by senior Australian artist, Imants Tillers, presenting a vision of the Australian landscape inspired by Eugene Von Guérard's 1863 masterpiece North-east view from the northern top of Mount Kosciusko, seen here together for the first time. These works will be complemented by stunning works from HOTA's own collection. Uluru by Pintupi artist Long Tom Tjapanangka brings a First Nations perspective of Australia's biggest landmark to the exhibition, and a stunning hinterland painting by beloved Australian artist Wiliam Robinson invites contemplation of the natural world around us. Prepare to be awestruck by the grandeur of these works, as you explore a bigger view.
