Our seaside city has a long history as Australia’s favourite holiday destination. During the 60s and 70s the Gold Coast Highway was lined with motels and hotels, sporting blinking neon signs and catchy names. Happily, a few of these classics still remain and have been lovingly restored and updated with all the mod cons, while staying true to their fabulous retro heritage. Bringing back some vintage style, these boutique motels and hotels offer a nostalgic experience that honours our city’s colourful past and coastal lifestyle.
For a different sort of stay, check into one of Gold Coast’s retro motels that channel the style and charm of yesteryear.
