Amid the Stalinist purges, a young prosecutor’s pursuit of justice leads him into the heart of a system built on lies and fear.
A loyal Bolshevik with a sense of justice, Kornyev seeks out its author, a man brutalised by the secret police, the NKVD. Their meeting sparks a chain of repercussions that carries Kornyev deep into the machinery of Stalin’s regime.
