Overview
Rekindle, Rekindle is an experimental film by Gold Coast skateboarder, actor, stunt performer, artist and filmmaker Sarah Huston. Redefining the phrase “skate and destroy,” the film reframes skateboarding’s masculine associations with destruction through a regenerative feminist lens.
Shot on Super 8, and featuring an original score by acclaimed Australian composer Lawrence English, Rekindle, Rekindle follows a skateboarder through a ritual of friction, motion and fire. Through repetition, skateboarding becomes a meditation on destruction and creation, exploring what it means to push the body to its limits, again and again.
