TOPS with SMERZ
Jet Black Cat Music Presents TOPS (CA) and Norwegian duo SMERZ on their debut Aus tour. TOPS (CA) — musicians David Carriere, Jane Penny, Marta Cikojevic, and Riley Fleck —write timeless music that reliably threads immediacy and depth. Bury the Key, their first full-length since 2020 and with new label home Ghostly International, is a captivating reintroduction for the Montréal band: ever refined, undoubtedly masters of their melodic craft yet unafraid of evolving and testing themselves against different, at times darker tones. The album faces feelings once locked away, engaging the give-and-take between happiness, hedonism, and self-destruction. SMERZ is the Norwegian duo of Henriette Motzfeldt and Catharina Stoltenberg, based in Oslo and Copenhagen. The duo released their sophomore album, Big city life, in May this year through Danish label Escho. Using collages to capture moments of everyday life and dreams, Smerz tell stories lived and imagined—of apathy, loneliness and internal monologue, love and friendship. Smerz operates at the intersection of genres, drawing inspiration from compositional techniques in classical music, the experimentation of computer music and the immediacy of pop music, in the palettes of girly existentialism. Show Doors 7pmEl Ranchero back deck and food truck open from 6pm for pre-show eats and cocktails TOPS & SMERZ appearing at Mo's Desert Clubhouse on: SAT 28 FEB // $55+BF until sold out // 18+ Mo's Desert Clubhouse is the Gold Coast's premier destination live music venue in the Burleigh Arts Quarter.El Ranchero Cocktail Garden, located adjacent to Mo's is open for drinks & food before or during the showAll guests are required to show ID on the door

DARYL BRAITHWAITE
When you’ve got a back catalogue like Daryl Braithwaite’s it’s hard to find new material that will slip easily into an established canon of classic hits. In 2020, when almost no one expected it, Braithwaite returned with a stunning new single ‘Love Songs’. Let’s face it, you don’t get to wear that King of Pop crown for nothing. Daryl’s vocal pipes should be listed as a national treasure - as should his instinct for hearing a song and making it his own. It's no surprise Daryl’s live audience warmed to the song immediately. “It’s like when I started out with Sherbet in 1970, that’s how you would gauge the reaction to new material. We’d all discuss it after the gig if the song had worked or not. The audience are the best indicator of those things.” ABOUT DARYL BRAITHWAITE Daryl Braithwaite is an iconic Australian singer/songwriter and ARIA Hall Of Fame Inductee. As the front man and vocalist for 1970’s band Sherbet, Braithwaite rode a wave of local and international success with songs such as Howzat and Summer Love propelling the band the band to superstar status. Braithwaite went on to embark on a highly successful solo career which included a #1 ARIA Album Chart for his album Edge (1988) featuring the hit singles As The Days Go By and One Summer. Braithwaite’s 1990 follow up album Rise included the single The Horses which reached #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and to this day remains an anthem for generations of Australians. In 2020, Braithwaite joined a host of local and international artists to perform at Fire Fight Australia, Concert For National Bushfire Relief in front of an audience in excess of 70,000 at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium. In 2023 Daryl was also invited to perform live on stage with Harry Styles in front of an audience 70,000.

HAMMERS - Death Wobbles Album Tour
Gold Coast heavies HAMMERS announce the commencement of a rolling tour campaign, in celebration of the release of their long-awaited debut album DEATH WOBBLES, due out on Friday 23 January 2026 via Summerland Records. The DEATH WOBBLES album tour will see the band kick-off with a string of dates along the eastern seaboard of Australia, performing the new tracks for the very first time. 3 years in the making, DEATH WOBBLES is an album steeped in post-hardcore and alternative metal flavours and marks a significant progression for HAMMERS, both sonically and spiritually. The group push their own creative boundaries and the very confines of what it means to be a heavy, Australian band in the 21st century with big riffs, emotive hooks, screams, grooves and that signature HAMMERS ratbag mentality. Firmly flying the flag for the Australian independent music community, HAMMERS’ uncompromising wares have continually transcended any roadblocks in their way, striking an unforgettable balance between flippant fun and searing substance without sacrificing genuine craftsmanship. Equally in-demand onstage as they are for their diverse sonic smorgasbord, HAMMERS ticked off their first international tour in 2024, headlining in New Zealand and Japan, and have previously shared stages with the likes of He Is Legend, Cog, Mammal, and The Butterfly Effect, as well as their own renowned headline shows Catch the band live this March/April as they celebrate the release of the new album in raucous fashion, with supports for all shows to be announced.
