Summary

Overview

UnitePlayPerform

Hyper Temples by Melissa Gilbert, an immersive installation transforming the HOTA Gallery Foyer into a living ecosystem of play, participation and imagination.

Expanding from Melissa Gilbert’s Build + Destroy ethos, the work explores how creativity, relationality and collective participation can become tools for cultural repair, adaptability and regenerative future-building. Across unexpected locations, Hyper Temples operates as a living social sculpture shaped by the communities who enter and activate it.

Love to meet new people and get involved in something cool, creative and unique?

This invitation is open for movement artists, dancers, performers and anyone interested in exploring their self-expression.

UnitePlayPerform are looking for volunteers to come play, participate and bring your imagination to transform the HOTA Gallery into a living installation. Performers will work as an ensemble to guide and activate Hyper Temples Opening Ceremony, supporting audiences to move from observation into collective participation and improvisational rather than traditionally choreographed, with performers working across the gallery, building and surrounding landscape.

Participants will be required from 9am - 2pm on Saturday 3 October for rehearsals, warm up and performance.
