ArtLab – Beautiful Banana Leaves

Let’s celebrate the opening of Aka Sorbie: Saltwater Heart in our Children’s Gallery with a hands-on making activity exploring colour, pattern and light.

Imagine the feeling of lying in the cool shade of a banana grove and experiencing the light shining through the big, beautiful leaves. By weaving coloured strips of paper and transparent material we will create our own unique ‘stained glass’ banana leaf, prioritising experimentation and play.

Recommended for ages 6 – 12 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult or carer and cannot be left unsupervised at any time. Thank you for your understanding.
