Day 1
The Opening Scene: Ocean, Sunlight & That Main Character Energy
Expand
Morning
Sunrise & Salt Air
Fade in: golden light spills over the ocean. You’re barefoot on Burleigh Headland, coffee in hand, watching surfers glide across perfect waves. It looks like a scene from a film — but you’re in it.
Do this: Grab breakfast at Tarte Bakery & Cafe, then wander James Street for boutique finds and vintage treasures.
Midday
Lunch with a View
Cut to: a long lunch at Rick Shores or Burleigh Pavilion overlooking the beach. The bug roll, the breeze, the laughter — pure coastal cinematography.
Do this: Pair your meal with a spritz and soak up the oceanfront view.
Afternoon
A Change of Scene
Drive up to Tamborine Mountain — swap ocean blues for rainforest greens. Dappled sunlight filters through the trees at Curtis Falls, and time slows right down. Then wander Gallery Walk, where boutique wineries, cellar doors and artisan shops line the street.
Do this: Enjoy a local wine tasting, browse handmade chocolates and discover art that captures the spirit of the mountain.
Evening
Golden Hour Glow
Back on the coast, fairy lights and live music fill Miami Marketta. Street eats, craft cocktails and a buzzing crowd — every frame alive with energy. There are delicious bites to eat and free live tunes here every night from Wednesday - Saturday, but this eclectic venue also hosts bands, DJs and ticketed events so make sure to check their website before you go.
Do this: Dance, taste, wander — no script needed.
Day 2
The Plot Twist: Wellness, Waves & A Little Luxury
Expand
Morning
Reset & Recharge
Opening scene: steam rises, spas bubbles and you exhale in bliss. You’re at Greenhouse the Bathhouse in Tallebudgera or The Bathhouse at Ground in Currumbin. Soak away your stress and reinvigorate, alternating between heated mineral pools, saunas and the bracing cold plunge.
Do this: Sink in, breathe out, let the real world fade.
Midday
Salt Water and Sunlight
Next shot: paddleboard drifting across turquoise water at Tallebudgera Creek or Currumbin Creek. Mangroves, mountains and mirror-still reflections — the kind of beauty that needs no filter.
Do this: Join a guided SUP session or rent your own board.
Afternoon
Slow Motion Moments
Explore Coolangatta’s beachfront — pastel-toned surf clubs, vintage shops and gelato stand straight out of a summer classic.
Do this: Stroll from Greenmount to Rainbow Bay and watch surfers at Snapper Rocks.
Evening
The Closing Scene
Final fade: dinner at Hanks in Kirra. Italian inspired with coastal elegance — and that feeling that you’ve lived something cinematic.
Do this: Toast to the fact this isn’t a movie — it’s just two days on the Gold Coast.
