Finally, it’s possible to have kid-free time on family holidays with these awesome kids clubs on the Gold Coast.
Parents need not feel guilty as award-winning facilities with carefully planned activities and new friends have kids raring to go.
PARADISE RESORT
Kids will not want to leave once they discover the lagoon pool and spa, two water parks (slides included), cannons, a giant tipping bucket, laser tag, indoor jungle gym, games arcade and ice rink at Paradise Resort.
Most accommodation packages include a complimentary four-hour session per child (per day) to the Zone 4 Kids Club, so parents can enjoy uninterrupted time together, inside or outside the resort. Additional sessions are available from around $40 per child.
The kids club offers seven themed play spaces for kids aged 3-12 years. Pirate treasure hunts, face painting, Olympic challenges and go-kart races are some of the activities on offer.
For the little ones, aged 0-2 years, a separate crèche offers infant play that includes a Bubs Disco and Wiggly Safari.
TURTLE BEACH RESORT
The award-winning Turtle Beach Resort is centrally positioned to Gold Coast’s attractions – across from Mermaid Beach and just a short drive to Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. But that’s the last thing on the kids’ minds when there are four outdoor heated pools with slides, a giant waterpark, movie room, mini-golf course and a games arcade to explore.
Kids aged 4-12 years can attend the 3-hour ‘Club Turtle’ sessions, with supervised activities including arts and crafts, interactive games on the big screen and Xbox play. Evening sessions include a disco and movie screening.
Most holiday packages include one complimentary kids club session; additional sessions are available for $25 per child.
SEA WORLD RESORT & WATER PARK
If you can peel the kids away from the SpongeBob themed splash fountains at the water playground at Sea World Resort, they can meet their favourite Nickelodeon character before catching the monorail into Sea World.
A day of theme parks calls for a well-earned break for parents, with kids continuing the fun at the resort ‘Kids Club’. Kids aged 4-12 years old can enjoy SpongeBob and Dora themed activities, Xbox games, face painting, arts and crafts and movie nights.
The club is open every day from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. Full evening Kids Club sessions includes dinner and activities.
Parents can enjoy Lobby Bar cocktail specials, the 50 metre lagoon pool and 12 seater heated spa or take a date night outside of the resort.
INTERCONTINENTAL SANCTUARY COVE RESORT
Positioned on the Northern end of the Gold Coast this five-star resort is set amongst tropical gardens and a tranquil marina community, with the action of the theme parks only a short drive away.
Kids will be instantly drawn to the 1-acre beach lagoon pool, with its many inflatable pool toys and sea scooters. There’s also a Family Fun Zone and games room with a foosball table, cricket pitch, putting green, and giant Jenga and chess pieces to play.
InterContinental Sanctuary Cove’s ‘Planet Trekkers Kids Club’ provides parents the opportunity to enjoy the resort whilst the kids are in great hands. Indoor and outdoor activities include Wildlife Adventure Bingo, an evening Torch Safari and a Meet the Chef Food Discovery Tour.
Planet Trekkers includes a carer for a three-hour session including light refreshments, and is ideal for kids aged 4-12.
BIG4 GOLD COAST HOLIDAY PARK & MOTEL
Just 15 minutes from the heart of Surfers Paradise, this award-winning 32-acre park is geared up for kids, including several pools, jumping pillow, BMX Tracks, pedal cars and tennis courts. A host of free activities include Sunday pancake breakfasts, fishing, crabbing, wildlife talks and walks.
During the school holidays the Big4 ‘Kids Club’ operates with a range of fun activities including ‘Coco pops and cartoons’, chocolate hunts and outdoor movie nights. The park is also pet-friendly too!
NRMA TREASURE ISLAND HOLIDAY RESORT
Pirate themed mini-golf, go-karting, t-shirt creation, plaster painting, chocolate making and sand art are some of the great Kids Club activities available for kids aged 4-14 years at NRMA Treasure Island Resort.
Sessions open at 9am, 11am and 1pm daily, and cost $6 per activity. Parents are required to stay nearby and advised to enjoy a cup of coffee on the front deck. Afterwards, families can choose from the jumping pillow, the three pools, playground, games room, and tennis or basketball courts to enjoy.
With something for all, book a family trip to the Gold Coast and let the kids have a ball at these top kids clubs and family-friendly resorts.
