Summary
Situated on the southern Gold Coast, Palm Beach is loved for its laidback coastal character that blends natural beauty with urban cool. Bordered by Tallebudgera Creek to the north, there are several patrolled areas to swim safely, and the southern end of the beach is an off-leash dog beach so there are plenty of happy hounds frolicking along the shoreline.
'Palmy', as it's fondly known by locals, has been crowned Queensland's cleanest beach three times and surfing, boating, fishing, beach walks and paddleboarding are preferred past times on this lovely stretch of coastline. On the weekends in the warmer months, you'll find see squads of local Nippers (junior lifeguards) learning about water safety, swimming and racing around on the sand.
Palm Beach Surf Club has restaurant with an expansive deck overlooking the sand, and the coffee shop tucked underneath is busy in the mornings with early risers and salty surfers getting their caffeine fix.
