Summary
Burleigh Heads Beach is a coastal paradise where laid-back surf vibes meet natural beauty. Protected by Burleigh Headland, it's home to one of the most consistent and iconic point breaks on the east coast, famous for its long, clean right-hand waves. Closer to shore, the beach is calm and sheltered, with safe swimming zones patrolled daily from 8am to 5pm.
Fringed by shady parklands lined with pandunus and pine trees, Burleigh Heads Beach is a popular spot for social gatherings, picnics and playdates. The beachfront park has barbecues, playgrounds and all the facilities you need for a perfect day by the sea, while the grassy headland is the perfect spot to watch a sunset. Cyclists, dog-walkers and fitness enthusiasts keep up a steady stream of foot traffic along the Gold Coast Oceanway which runs along the coastline.
Burleigh also goes the extra mile for accessibility, with wheelchair matting, beach wheelchairs, and accessible change rooms at the Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club.
