Take Dad On A Gold Coast Adventure For Father’s Day

01 Sep 2021

When it comes to celebrating Father’s Day this year, leave the socks and jocks at the shops and give dad a real thrill by taking him on an unexpected Gold Coast adventure. But where to? We’ve thought ahead and matched a range of dads to some suitable local suggestions. All you have to do is pick his favourite and book your dear ol’ dad in for a fun experience with the family.

CRAZY ABOUT CARS

Does you dad know a thing or two about cars? If so, surround him with his kind of wonderful at the Gold Coast Motor Museum. Fittingly, owner brothers Carl and Grant Amor’s obsession with cars was passed on by their late father Denis, and they have lovingly built this showroom in his honour. Vehicles from the 1900s through to more modern models have been meticulously restored and maintained so your dad can lose himself in blissful, wistful awe. Why not make a day of it and book lunch at Stanley’s Barn Restaurant & Bar on the property?

GIVE THE MAN A BEER

If your dad loves his beer but likes being up to date with all the latest in brews too, head to Precinct Brewing Co. at Miami to spend Father’s Day beer sampling. A brewery by trade, with all beers made from scratch onsite, and with a total of 16 (at last count) to choose from, there’s a beer to suit all occasions. They’re generously offering free Father’s Day Brewery Tours with a free beer for dad too! Their menu is made to be washed down with a pint or two, so settle in beside dad for a session to reminisce about the good ol’ days while creating some new memories to treasure.

WILD THINGS

If your dad loves his wildlife and counts getting up close with cute, cuddly, creepy crawly, or curious creatures as his favourite pastime, make a day of it and shout him brunch at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary this Father’s Day. Not only will he enjoy a delicious three-course brunch in his honour, but he can spend the rest of day wandering with wildlife, joining the shows and soaking up the Sanctuary’s extra special nature.

SPORTS MAD DAD

We know the type – can’t miss a game on the weekend and is always wearing his team colours loud and proud. He’s going to love this unexpected adventure with tickets to the double header Sharks v Storm and Eels v Panthers at Cbus Super Stadium on Friday 3rd September. You could top it off with a personal drop off and pick up service to make him feel like a real VIP, and why not slip some change in his wallet for a few beers and a pie – BEST sporty Father’s Day ever. (Kids under 15 get free entry!)

DE-STRESS DAD

He might not say it, but if the stress levels have been high, maybe the main man in your life needs a little break for some rest and relaxation. Block out an hour or two without the kids and whisk him away to Soak Bathhouse. This urban oasis is designed to help him unwind with indoor and outdoor communal mineral  baths to ease tight muscles, hot spas, cold plunge pools, steam room and traditional dry cedar sauna. He’ll leave feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and ready to wrestle the rest of the day away with the groms.

HOP TO IT DAD

With the designated driver sorted, treat dad to a ‘Coldie on the Goldie’ Hop On Brewery Tour. Start with a hearty lunch at one of the Gold Coast’s best craft beer bars where meals are complemented with a paddle of frothy favourites, while the finer details of beer appreciation are discussed. Hit the best neighbourhood breweries after with a drop in at least three local favs – Black Hops, Lost Palms, Burleigh Brewing and/or Balter to whet dads whistle with the finest craft beers around. Cheers big fella!
