As the temperature drops, it’s time to dig out those snuggly jumpers, tuck into a hearty comfort meal and cradle a steaming cup of your favourite brew by the fire. Fortunately, the Gold Coast has no shortage of charming hideaways where crackling fires and cosy vibes await. 

From the Hinterland to the seaside, these are the best venues on the Gold Coast with a fireplace to get toasty at this winter. 

 

1. Robina Pavillion

Pull on your winter warmers and gather your mates for an amber-lit catch up by the lake with the return of Robina Pavillion’s fire pits. Running from 14 June until 1 September, you and your crew will sit lakeside, gathered around your own private fire pit. Each booking comes with a designated fire pit attendant and complimentary marshmallows to toast. There are cheese platters to devour, in between sipping a warming glass of red wine. Spaces are limited so be sure to book ahead.

Tucked away on a stunning 75-acre property in the heart of the Scenic Rim, this enchanting setting serves up pure magic - both on the plate and in the atmosphere. The hatted restaurant embraces a paddock-to-plate philosophy, showcasing the region’s incredible produce. 5. St Bernard’s Hotel

Tamborine Mountain is a year-round gem but, when the mercury heads south, it’s the ultimate fireside escape. Head straight to the iconic St Bernard’s Hotel, built in 1881 and home to friendly resident St Bernards, Cooper and Norman. Inside the freestanding fireplace and dark timber panelling feel like a warm hug. As does the menu filled with comfort food. Dig into pub classics like chicken parmy, towering burgers, creamy carbonara and butter chicken. Don’t skip a drink on the expansive deck, where panoramic views stretch from Guanaba Gorge to the Gold Coast skyline and all the way to Stradbroke Island.

6. Fox & Hounds Country Inn
