Prepare to strap in, hold on tight and scream at the top of your lungs with the launch of three brand new, world-class roller coasters coming to Gold Coast theme parks in 2021.
With the Southern Hemisphere’s highest concentration of the biggest and best theme parks on the Gold Coast, there’s no shortage of high speed, adrenaline-fuelled fun to be had on holiday here. Frightening and fun in equal measure, these three new exhilarating experiences will up the ante in the scream stakes. We recommend riding them before you eat your lunch!
STEEL TAIPAN
Steel Taipan is set to strike late this year, offering an unforgettable rollercoaster experience to Dreamworld guests. Hang onto your hat – well take it off entirely – because this reptilian ride is not for the faint-hearted, with a top speed of 105kmh and a G-force of 3.8. White-knuckle your way around 1.2km of twists, turns and gut-lurching launches! With multiple inversions and even a spinning gondola at the rear of the train, this experience will have enough venom to leave you reeling.
THE TRIDENT
Coming to Sea World in June 2021, this ride is classified as “mild thrill”… as long as you don’t mind heights! Defy gravity and take to the skies atop Sea World’s newest and tallest landmark, the magical Trident, which towers 42 metres high. Enjoy a birds-eye-view of the whole theme park as you soar and spin around and around far above the ground.
THE LEVIATHAN
Welcome to the world’s greatest family rollercoaster. Launching in June 2021 The Leviathan will be the centrepiece of Sea World’s new $50 million precinct, The New Atlantis. Guests will experience a thundering 90-second quest across wooden terrain, through exhilarating banked turns, crossovers, drops and dips. Little thrill seekers will love this classic roller coaster and their less thrill-seeking parents won’t mind coming along for the ride.
The New Atlantis is going to be a game-changer for Sea World and will become a destination where visitors can experience the myths and mysteries of the deep. The Vortex – an 18 metre high pendulum swinging attraction, which reaches speeds of 30 kilometres per hour – is the third ride in the precinct, which has been bringing the thrills since the start of summer.
