NOWHERE BETTER FOR WRAPAROUND EVENT SUPPORT AND ‘OUT OF THE BOX’ THINKING

Bringing the 17th World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) to Australia was no small feat, but for the Australian Chiropractors Association (ACA), it was the support of
Experience Gold Coast’s Business Events team that helped translate those big ambitions into a hugely successful reality.

Drawing attendees from across the globe, the 2023 event went off without a hitch, with attendance goals exceeded and delegates ‘wowed’ by the magic of the Gold Coast.

But for organisers, delivering the perfect event meant months of intensive planning and a supportive local network helping to bring their vision to life. Committed to making this a congress to remember, they focused on:

  • Staying within the agreed budget
  • Delivering experiences that would wow international delegates and give a real taste of Australia
  • Advertising to support attendance throughout the program
  • Identifying a range of accommodation budgets to suit students through to established professionals.

The Gold Coast has a lot more to offer than other states - beaches, rainforests, theme parks. Delegates could stay in the area with their families, attend the congress and then stay for a holiday. Anything anyone could imagine takes place on the Gold Coast.

THE BEST SUPPORT IN THE PERFECT LOCATION

Despite many late nights and all the challenges that come with delivering a global congress, the team said that the support they received ensured an outstanding result.

Hosting an event on the Gold Coast offers better value for money than the major cities – it also supports a ‘captive audience’ as in those locations you tend to lose local delegates who pop back to work. Taking people away to the Gold Coast minimises that issue, with the bonus of a spectacular location and enviable weather.

Impressed by the pace of development locally, from updated infrastructure to new dining options, organisers said that the region has a lot to offer, including hugely appealing incentives.

Staff at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre went above and beyond to make this event the outstanding success it was. Even down to the lighting at the formal dinner, it made a huge impact on the atmosphere. I can’t thank Margaret enough for the effort she put in on the night.

EXCEEDING ATTENDANCE GOALS

From opening with a traditional Aboriginal dance ceremony to the chance to wrangle a snake, delegates were delighted to sample some tourism staples. Charmed by the region’s relaxed atmosphere and wealth of top-class dining opportunities, organisers say that the congress delivered an end-to-end experience that delegates will remember for years to come.

The casual dinner at Sea World with an Aussie BBQ-style menu with prawns and oysters was injected into the program for delegates to experience the some funand cutlure side of the event.

The formal dinner at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, WFC expected 200 for this event; with the help of advertising, we hit capacity of 280.

Having created an experience-packed destination event around an impeccably executed professional congress, organisers are now ready to take on their next challenge.

The Gold Coast is a fantastic part of Australia which delegates love for its vibrancy. We will be back in 2025 for our sports symposium. Book your next event on the Gold Coast, you won’t regret it.
